The Theory of Speech Acts is used to be judged, under the thesis of centralize its preoccupation with the speaker, as a little bit related to the interaccionism. In this study, one searches to evaluate how valid this critic is, from the idea that one can not confuse ‘autonomy’ of an act with the ‘conversational dimension’ of such language practices. One argues that, if one refers to the actions of probable speaker´s intentions, the TSA does not propose a monological conception of the enunciation, it just take them as a “tool” that generates the interaction. Operationally, the corpus is composed of 72 acts characterized like promises and critics disseminated in the party of workers´ official discourse during the second turn of the presidential elections of 2006.
