Ao trabalhar na preparação de uma edição comentada da 1ª parte da Feira de Anexins de D. Francisco Manuel de Melo, tive de enfrentar alguns problemas de linguagem que, a meu ver, não foram bem resolvidos pelo primeiro editor da obra, o bibliográfico Inocêncio Francisco da Silva, em 1975, que teve à sua disposição, servindo-lhe de guia, segundo conclusão a que pude chegar, a cópia manuscrita do século XVIII, com indicação de códice 11186, existente na Biblioteca Nacional de Lisboa.
