Uma exploração da aprendizibilidade da construção resultativa do inglês por bilíngues do par linguístico português do Brasil e inglês
Keywords:
L2 acquisition, Acceptability judgement, Resultative constructionAbstract
Investigations on the topic of argument structure acquisition have been resulting in important discoveries concerning the understanding of how bilinguals minds work. The present article reports the results of an acceptability judgment task that demonstrated the behavior of high proficient Brazilian Portuguese and English bilinguals when dealing with the resultative constructions. The results of this research showed that these bilinguals are capable of learning this construction and of being sensitive to its idiosyncrasies. Thus, this study corroborates the idea that the learnability of a construction may be related to the L1 and L2 involved.
