From a philological perspective, this article will approach the phoneticgrafematic relationship on manuscripts produced in the Captaincy of Mato Grosso in the 18th Century, which nowadays belong to Mato Grosso’s Public Archives - APMT. In order to cope with this aim, we present fac-similar editions, photocopying or scanning of documents, and semidiplomatic, transcription of the corpus, which is characterized by keeping virtually all characteristics of the original, only with the deployment of abbreviations. The inconsistencies of writing is one of the peculiarities that led us to resort to this kind of analysis. They allow realizing that, at that age, not all of the scribers used to drew up in the same way, and that polygraphy was a rich material to be observed.
