Currently, Portugal, compulsory education is 12 years, but it was not always so. The political changes have meant that the population had different levels of education. Many elderly people over 70 years have not had access to any education. Who are illiterate, although not educated, have an odd linguistic wisdom. Their expertise is a vast linguistic heritage that gradually extinguished, if not conserved. It is intended to demonstrate that proves just that, through a survey lexical (plowshare, bullock cart and linen) tested with university students.
