Mapas do Rio Guaporé
uma análise filológica em documentos cartográficos do século XVIII da Capitania de Mato Grosso
Keywords:
maps, philology, paleographyAbstract
This paper is intended to show the similarities and the differences among facsimile editions of three maps of the Guaporé River. One map lies in the Historical Archive of the Army, in Rio de Janeiro; another one is in the National Library of Rio de Janeiro; the third one is in Ínsua House, in Portugal. All of them were made by hand in the eighteenth century, during the government of the General Captain Luis de Albuquerque de Mello Pereira e Cáceres. The analysis herein presented was done in light of Philology, by means of its auxiliary sciences: codicology and paleography.
