Abstract

Building on Neves (2018 [2006]), this paper reflects on the processes that constitute the utterance, directing its attention to the grammar that organizes relations, constructs meanings, and defines pragmatic effects, which make the text a functional unit. It is assumed that it is in the multiple activation of these processes, and organized by the grammar, that discursive interaction builds texts.

Maria Helena de Moura Neves, Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP)

Maria Helena de Moura Neves é professora emérita pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, licenciada em Letras (em Português- Grego e em Alemão) pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, doutora em Letras Clássicas (Grego) pela Universidade de São Paulo, livre-docente (Língua Portuguesa) pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. É bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa - nível 1A do CNPq e foi membro do comitê de Letras e Linguística do CNPq (1994-1997; 2007- 2010). Atualmente é professora da Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie e da UNESP - Araraquara. É Coordenadora do Grupo de Pesquisa Gramática de usos do português do CNPq. Pesquisa particularmente a teoria funcionalista da linguagem, as relações entre texto e gramática e a história da gramática. É autora, entre outros, dos livros: A gramática do português revelada em textos, 2018; A gramática funcional: interação, discurso e texto, 2018; A gramática passada a limpo: Conceitos, análises e parâmetros, 2012, Guia de uso do português, confrontando regras e usos, 2012 [2003]; Gramática de usos do português, 2011 [2000]. É membro da equipe que elaborou o Dicionário documentado do Português do Brasil (no prelo), membro do Conselho Editorial de 11 revistas especializadas e consultora de 6 fundações de apoio à pesquisa.
